The film has three main
characters: two mature friends, Rosa (a divorcee artist that is not able to
paint any longer), Jaime (an actor born, just like Rosa, under de sign of
Sagittarius) and young Juan, who begins the film as a cocky fast-food delivery
man buts ends up as a sad case of human trash. These three carry on the action,
centered on the love affairs developed between Rosa and Juan, and between Jaime
and a mysterious young man named Rafa. Around these people there will appear a
series of characters that will criss-cross their lives forming a sort of spider
web, some times comic, some times tragic, moved by both chance and desire.
Everyone - the Argentinean expatriates, the young man with two names and an
obscure past, the uppity Cuban widow, the young actress, as dramatic in real life
and she is on stage, the explorer that returns from the African jungle, the
spiritists, the witch doctor "santeros", the pursuers- all of then are after
the same thing: to fill their lives in the throbbing and halfbreed emptiness of
a Madrid that could fit in the entire human horoscope.
